Si analizamos algunos documentos públicos declaran que se avanza en Ecuador con respecto al aumento de casos de certificaciones de la Gestión de Calidad según ISO 9000 pero si se compara con la cantidad de empresas de medianas a grandes que pueden implementar y certificar sus sistemas los indicadores son bajos. De igual manera las empresas asesoras que es la tendencia más expedita en la contemporaneidad tienen falencias en su actuar. Para el trabajo se utilizó una búsqueda bibliográfica auxiliado por el gestor Mendeley y se utilizaron herramientas estadísticas y difusas que permitió esclarecer la situación actual del Ecuador respecto a la calidad. De igual forma se esclarecieron terminologías que frecuentemente se emplean cuando se aborda la concepción de la calidad que contribuyen a no entender el eslabonamiento de la cultura de ésta. En el texto se utilizan estudios descriptivos basado en un método histórico - lógico que permite tratar a la calidad como un sistema con secciones bien definidas en espacio y tiempo. El estudio abarca acciones en favor de la calidad que no forman parte de las filosofías de calidad; pero ayudaron a la formalización de documentos importantes para los seres humanos. Se hace un esbozo de la familia ISO 9000 y su surgimiento y desarrollo posterior. Finalmente queda esclarecido los diferentes términos de la calidad y se diferencian las etapas sin confusión.The objective of this work is what is the reality of Ecuador regarding Quality Management. If we analyze some public documents, they declare that progress is being made in Ecuador regarding the increase in cases of Quality Management certifications according to ISO 9000, but if compared with the number of medium to large companies that can implement and certify their systems, the indicators they are short. Similarly, advisory companies, which is the most expeditious trend in contemporary times, have flaws in their actions. For the work, a bibliographic search aided by the manager Mendeley was used and statistical and diffuse tools were used that allowed to clarify the current situation of Ecuador with respect to quality. In the same way, terms that are commonly used when talking about quality were clarified that contribute to not understanding the linkage of the quality culture. Descriptive studies are used in the text based on a logical historical method that allows treating quality as a system with well-defined sections in space and time. The study covers actions in favor of quality that are not part of the quality philosophy but helped to formalize important documents for human beings. An outline is made of the ISO 9000 family and its emergence and further development.
