Abstract
The majority of companies require the contracting of merchandise transportation services. In this context, the company SCORTRANSPORT Cia. Ltda, located in the city of Quito, is interested in acquiring another vehicle to increase its income. Therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the feasibility of purchasing a heavy-duty vehicle for the company. For this purpose, a situational analysis of the company was conducted, where it was found that there is an unsatisfied demand, so after making an investment of $120,000 in the purchase of a Kenworth T800 truck, an NPV of $20.835,01 and an IRR of 23,01% was obtained. Therefore, the investment is recovered in a period of two years and gives a cost benefit ratio of 1,81. This concludes that the investment is advisable and demonstrates the feasibility of the acquisition.
