Abstract
For teachers, students' reading deficiencies are currently a major concern. Reading difficulties have a direct impact on academic performance, which manifests itself in poor results, affecting the normal development of the teaching-learning process. All stakeholders in the educational community must be involved in this process, with parents playing an important role, as they are the ones who must motivate, encourage, and reinforce the knowledge taught at school. The research was conducted at the Makarenko Educational Unit, and the author will analyze and interpret the situations. It uses a qualitative methodology supported by quantitative instruments, with theoretical methods including analysis-synthesis and inductive- deductive methods. Empirical methods such as observation, interviews, and surveys are also used. The proposal for parent training workshops to reinforce reading learning among second-grade students at the Makarenko Educational Unit significantly contributes to improving the reading teaching-learning process.
